Kappa Sigma at Texas Dedicates Lodge

During the Tau Trustees Weekend on November 13, Kappa Sigma at the University of Texas alumni, friends, and guests gathered at 1002 West 26th Street to celebrate the completion of the 5,000-square-foot lodge facility. This was made possible by the donation of more than $3.5 million by loyal Tau Chapter alumni through the Tau 125 Campaign.

The lodge dedication was truly a historical event, honoring Kappa Sigma as the leader in updated Greek living facilities that provide fraternity men with state-of-the-art living and educational opportunities. Hundreds of parents, pledges, actives, and alumni filled the bright white-tented sport court.  Attendees cheered the introduction of 51 pledges, the largest class in memory.  A variety of awards were given to undergraduates and the Tau Man of the Year award went to Hagen McMahon ’66. A bright orange ribbon was cut to announce that the new lodge was open for business. Building the lodge brings attention to the coming effort required to raise the remaining funds needed to build the chapter house.
