Sigma Chi at Iowa State Announces $2 Million Campaign to Build New Chapter House

For nearly 100 years, the Beta Omicron Chapter of Sigma Chi has provided a helping hand of brotherhood for the achievement of purposeful living, both in the college community and in the years that follow. Several years ago it became clear to the Corporation Board that the Chapter House was no longer the beacon of brotherhood it once was, nor did it provide a competitive advantage to their undergraduate members as they attempted to recruit new members. These issues, coupled with the fact that several other fraternities and University residence halls had completed recent major renovations, prompted the corporation to consider an update for the facility.

Once the decision was made to update the house, the question was whether to renovate or rebuild. At the conclusion of a feasibility study, the feedback provided was overwhelmingly in favor of building a new facility. With this input, BSB Design, a Des Moines-based architectural firm, was engaged and a design was put forth detailing the future construction of a new Beta Omicron Chapter House.

In conjunction with this building project, it is with great pride that they announce the Pride in Our Past, Securing Our Future campaign. Commitments from loyal alumni now surpass $1 million. For all who enjoyed the brotherhood and camaraderie of Beta Omicron, and for all of the alumni whose family, social lives, and careers have benefited from membership in the fraternity, this new Chapter House will preserve the legacy and secure the future of Sigma Chi at Iowa State University.
